I'm trying to get a Golf IV Tacho whit FIS display for my Octavia, but I'm not sure of witch of them that would bee the correct one.
I need one for TDI, whit out CAN bus, whit control lights for front and rear fog lights.
Can anyone tell me the part number for the one that will fit in my Octavia.

Dear petter_i,
my English is not so good, but I hope you can understand.
1.)You are shure, that in your car is an instrument cluster with out CAN bus? What "production year" is your car 1999 or 2000, not the date of bying?
2.) do you want a cluster with "big display"(Hihline) in the centre, or with FIS-Display in the left Instrument (RPM)?
3.)It is very difficult to adjust the "ANTI THEFT SYSTEM", there ist a check between Instrument cluster, engine control unit and transponder key.
To adjust the "anti theft system" there are 2 ways:
A) You have to read the EPROM-settings of your original Instrument cluster and the Golf-instrument cluster, then to check what is different and then to write the Informations from your original Instrument cluster to the Golf-instrument cluster.
B) You do the adjustment like the original service informations but you need the code (4-Numbers) of your car (it is on a small Label and was fittet on the car-key when the car was new). And also you need this code from the Golf dashboard, (if it was an used dashboard). For this key you have to read the Information (frame-number and SKZ-number) from the dashboard and then each VW-Dealer have to ask the "General Importeur" of yor country for this code number.
Version A) I think is more successfull then version B), but I think the Octavia "anti theft system" does not accept the golf instument cluster.
You have to ask an "Tacho-Profi" for EPROM-adjustment like version A).
Here is a very important information. The instrument clusters of Octavia and Golf must be the same generation of "anti theft system"!
Best regards.

-Yes I'm sure that my car don't have can bus. It is made in April 2000
-I want a cluster whit the "big display" in the center, my current Tacho have the small MFA display in the left Instrument (RPM)
As for the anti theft system, I have tried version B whit an Golf IV Tacho that I have (part number 1J0 919 890 B), but I haven't managed to make it work, ( the engine runs, but the IMO control light is flashing, I'm not able to change the number of keys from 0, and the EPC control light is on)so I guess that I have to go whit the eprom change. But before I do that I need to be sure that I have the correct Tacho.

You need:
XXX 919 8 4 5 C X
The following Values are important:
919 = without can
8 = km/h
4 = FIS
5 = IMMO 2 (i think it's IMMO2, IMMO3 was built in 2001 ?)
C = For Diesel Vehicles
X = The last digit describes if the Tacho is a new one, or if it is a spare part.
That's not so easy with the part number, the first 3 digit's are 1U0 i think for the octavia.
This Link will help too: http://www.gti-tdi.de/html/tachometer.html
But it's in german

I have no problem in reading German, it's writing that is the problem....
Do you know if only the XXX 919 8 4 5 C X will work in my car, or can I use any of the ones listed in this list: http://www.gti-tdi.de/PDF/Golf%20IV%20T ... %20CAN.pdf ?

Hi!
I see
The Tacho will work, but i'm not sure with that IMMO Version.
Normally it has to be IMMO3.
I think the shortest way to find out is to write a PN with that question to the user "Theresias".
He's a specialist for something like that.
Remember: The first 3 digits are not important in that way, because it's just the description of the car model, e.g Golf, Bora (Jetta), Octavia, etc etc.
Remember2: The last digit isn't important too for the functionality, it's just for dealers to identify if the tacho is new or used.
I hope you know how to program the Key Transponder, etc ?
