Dear John!

Would you please write in english, the german translation is rather weird. Did you use a translation program like 'bablefish'?

So you have a radio with tape and external changer. The german translation for tape in you text is adhesive foil...

Frank,

Heres the English version and yes I do use bablefish, never use the adhesive tape drive.

I am trying to find the vag com radio setting used for the radio when the OE Skoda navi is installed with cd changer. My original symphony radio with combined tape and external 6 disk cd changer was coded as 0400. Any body know the code for Superb or Octavia when the navi is installed? The Symphony unit comunicated via can bus for the multifuction steeering controls, where as the Skoda navi uses the single remote R lead on pin 11 of the green radio plug which I have connected to the controller pin 5 but need to code so it comunicates via the R lead. Thats my theory to get it working.

Great site and my current cars ar4 a 2003MY Superb 2.8v6 Auto Elegance and 2002MY RS.

Hi John John!

Sorry, I can't help you in that case, I just called my Skoda mechanic, he told me that the navi can not be changed without a chip tester. The navigation must be semiskilled to the rest of your system. This is at least necessary for the german system.

Sorry,

Frank

Frank,

Thanks for you efforts its appreciated, I think he means it depends on how many speakers etc what the code is, unfortunately I will need to find some one with the OE navi , steering controls, 8 speakers and 6 disk cd changer installed and access to VAG com to see what the radio codes set to. Unfortunately the Skoda Navi was not an option here in the UK so its difficult to find out. I have a Skoda dealer who has tried via vag com but no luck so far. When more cars with navi installed come to the UK maybe I will be able to find out.

Thanks

John

I think he also means the sign of speedpulse.

I hope you soon find your answers. Good luck. Otherwise I can recommend the navigations of Alpine (INA333) and Becker (Traffic Pro & DTM).

Frank,

Thanks, The navi is installed in my Superb with the cd and radio and navigation working fine I had no problem setting the spreed pulse to 8 pulses per revolution for GALA and the appropriate tyre size, these settings can be done directly from the navi and no vag com is needed, (however it can be set from vag com if wished).

Its only the streering maintenance controls and maxi dot display I am trying to get to function again. At the end of the day its only a minor problem that would be nice to get working again.

If I was fitting it in my Octavia RS I wouldn't have the problem as it has no steering controls or maxi dot display  . It only that the nature of the comfort and specification of the Superb that the extra features are a "nice" to have and to show off to friends with more expensive less equiped cars because they cant bear to drive cars with the Skoda badge
